Put a stamp on it

Remember when you used to get so excited when you saw a letter in the mail with your name on it? Now as an adult this is a rare occurence. Yes, there is mail with my name on it. There's a house payment, an electric bill, a gas bill, a TV bill, a cell phone bill, some junk mail (LOTS of junk mail), a few things that were supposed to go to the neighbor....oh so many things with my name on it. But, rarely do we get something in the mail that makes us feel special. Technology has made people lazy. Instead of calling we text, instead of emailing we post or tweet, instead of mailing people letters to let them know we're thinking of them, we only send out cards for special occasions.

A while back Chris was telling me how he hates getting the mail just to see nothing but bills. I started sending him letters. Sometimes I would put a stamp on it and actually mail it out from work and other times I would make my own stamp and put it in the mail the day before. I did it for about 3 months at random. He loved checking the mail each day to see if he had a letter.

I don't really like Valentine's Day, not because I don't believe in love, but because it's such a cliche. It's turned into a day where people spend too much money on useless stuff, men feel inadequate for not getting the best floral arrangement or biggest box of candy, and women end up disappointed with their men for not living up to their expectations. I understand it's a day for love, but it ends up being about anything but love.

Chris was surprised when I told him that we are not buying each other anything for Valentine's Day. We've decided to stay in, order pizza and watch a movie. Maybe I'll mail him a love letter. :)

As this holiday for love approaches remember the simple ways for saying "I love you". My challenge to you.......PUT A STAMP ON IT.

I thought this was too cute not to share. XoXo!

Sincerely sealed with a kiss,
