I have been pretty open about my emotional status, but haven't really felt the need to let anyone in on what my life outside this blog has been like. Here's what's been going on in Ashley's world.
*Went to NY over Valentines to spend some time with my Aunt and Uncle. Did some shopping, relaxing and more shopping.
*Got an apartment- I was very lucky to find this place. A friend of mine that I used to work with owns a house in Ogden. The house is split into three apartments. My friends mom lives in the front apartment, I live in the back and we have another girl that lives upstairs with her two little girls. A house full of girls! My friend and her husband are the sweetest. They have taken good care of me. They have allowed me to put some of my junk down in their storage and they a washer and dryer for all of us to use. The rent is a great deal and they include my utilities. I couldn't have found a better place! Not to mention, it's only about 3 minutes drive away from my work. And I LOVE it! It's so dang cute! The kitchen has black and white tile and white, old style cupboards. The kitchen is by far the biggest room in the apartment. My decorations went very well with the set up. :-) It is extremely warm in my apartment with this crazy 100 degree weather, but other than that, it's my safe haven.
*Got in a car accident- In the process of trying to sale mine and Landon's Armada, I needed a car to drive. Landon let me drive his Maxima. Unfortunately, a 14 year old child decided to be driving her sisters car that day. She ran a stop sign and tail boned me. They spun me around until I was on the opposite side of the road, facing oncoming traffic. The car was totaled. The owner of the vehicle ended up not having insurance. It has lapsed 3 days before the accident. But, they said they wouldn't have covered it anyway because she was under age. Fan freakin tastic. Luckily, I pay an arm and a leg for my insurance and they have uninsured motorist. My attorney is currently going after them to put a lien on the retards who got away with hitting me. I wasn't injured too bad except for my shoulder. The seat belt works wonders in saving you, but also hurts you as well. I ended up getting intense whiplash in my neck and shoulder, bruises on my hips and ribs from the seat belt, and a headache from hitting my head on the window. No need to fret. I am lucky enough to have a mom that works for an amazing chiropractor who has taken great care of me every other car accident I've been in. He did tell me my neck will never be the same with how many times I have been hit. Sounds like my kind of luck. Recovery in process, but doing well.
*Put red back in my hair- LOVE it! Still debating on when to chop it.
*Got a new car!!!- There was an extensive process that had to happen before I could even start looking for a new car. We had to sale the Armada, refinance our home, and pull out my half of the equity. Well, trying to sale a $18,000 SUV that is a gas hog in the middle of gas price insanity, that didn't happen very easily. But, we finally got that done. Then we got the appraisal done on our home and sadly, but expected, it appraised four about $15,000 less than we though. We were able to finally put the house in Landon's name so everything was off my credit and get me my half of the equity. Let the car search begin! I looked for about a week and narrowed the car that I wanted to a Nissan Sentra. I found some great deals in Orem so off to Orem I went. I ended up getting a really good deal on an even newer model than I thought I would. It's my baby.
*Had surgery
*My car got in a car accident- Another accident you're thinking???? I know. This is the third in 6 months. It's getting a little ridiculous. I was not in the car for this accident, thank goodness. I had just had surgery two days before so that wouldn't have been the best for recovery. After my mom was bringing me home from staying at her house for a few days after surgery, I was having a friend take care of me. He was going to get my medication when a guy decided to pull out and stop in the middle of a busy road. So, thankfully, it wasn't my friends fault. Even though it wasn't his fault you can only imagine how terrible he felt. He got some pretty terrible whiplash, but other than that he was scratch free. The other driver had car insurance. A glimpse of good shines through the bad. I didn't end up having to pay anything for this one, not even a deductible. I may pay a lot for my car insurance, but they have been my saving grace. My car was in the stop for about 2 1/2 weeks. I was very lucky that just two weeks prior to all this happening I had moved onto my own policy and added the rental package. I was able to get a rental for free for the full 2 1/2 weeks. Much better than having to borrow another friend or family members car. Like they'd want to let this target borrow it anyway!!! The shop did a great job! My baby looks good as new! My rental was nice, but I was so glad to have my own car back. Now, if the world could stop running into me that would be much appreciated.
*Divorce was finalized- Different stages of mourning began.
*Applied for a job in Seattle- Still waiting to hear back. Hopefully will find out first thing Monday.
*Still don't have any kind of TV or internet in my apartment- Movies are great and much cheaper :-)
*Started doing pilates again.
Plans for the rest of the summer.......have fun! I haven't been able to enjoy much of this summer yet. I want to get out and go swimming, camping, hiking, and take at least one trip.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer. I can't thank you enough for all your support you've all given me on this blog. It's helped me more than you could ever imagine.
Much love,
